Investigation report: September main-track collision between a passenger train and 2 tank cars in Ernestown, Ontario
Richmond Hill, Ontario, 10 July 2020 — Today, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its investigation report (R19H0123) into the 05 September 2019 main-track collision between a VIA Rail Canada Inc. passenger train and 2 tank cars in Ernestown, Ontario.
The TSB conducted a limited-scope, fact-gathering investigation into this occurrence to advance transportation safety through greater awareness of potential safety issues.
