In 2002 there were 1,813 reported accidents, 1,376 mandatorily reported incidents, 661 voluntarily reported incidents, 191 fatalities.
In 2003 there were 1,971 reported accidents, 1,391 mandatorily reported incidents, 673 voluntarily reported incidents, 172 fatalities.
In 2004 there were 1,941 reported accidents, 1,484 mandatorily reported incidents, 680 voluntarily reported incidents, 186 fatalities.
In 2005 there were 2,046 reported accidents, 1,371 mandatorily reported incidents, 622 voluntarily reported incidents, 188 fatalities.
In 2006 there were 1,921 reported accidents, 1,326 mandatorily reported incidents, 564 voluntarily reported incidents, 168 fatalities.

Figure 2 - Investigations Started, in Process, and Completed
In 2002-2003 there were 89 investigations started, 139 in process, 109 were completed.
In 2003-2004 there were 76 investigations started, 142 in process, 73 were completed.
In 2004-2005 there were 75 investigations started, 102 in process, 115 were completed.
In 2005-2006 there were 78 investigations started, 105 in process, 75 were completed.
In 2006-2007 there were 68 investigations started, 119 in process, 54 were completed.

In 2002 there were 485 marine reported accidents, 174 mandatorily reported incidents and 28 fatalities.
In 2003 there were 547 marine reported accidents, 224 mandatorily reported incidents and 17 fatalities.
In 2004 there were 492 marine reported accidents, 248 mandatorily reported incidents and 28 fatalities.
In 2005 there were 489 marine reported accidents, 227 mandatorily reported incidents and 20 fatalities.
In 2006 there were 467 marine reported accidents, 212 mandatorily reported incidents and 18 fatalities.
