Investigation report: July 2018 loss of control and collision with water in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador

Dartmouth, Nova Scotia,  — 

Today the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its investigation report (A18A0053) into the July 2018 loss of control and collision with water of a de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver aircraft, which occurred at Goose (Otter Creek) water aerodrome in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador.

The TSB conducted a limited-scope, fact-gathering investigation into this occurrence to advance transportation safety through greater awareness of potential safety issues.


The TSB is an independent agency that investigates air, marine, pipeline, and rail transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
