Investigation report: Wing lift strut failure and collision with terrain

Winnipeg, Manitoba,  — 

Today, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its investigation report (A19C0026) on the 30 March 2019 wing lift strut failure and collision with terrain of a Piper J3C-65 aircraft on the frozen surface of Snowshoe Lake, Ontario.

The TSB conducted a limited-scope, fact-gathering investigation into this occurrence to advance transportation safety through greater awareness of potential safety issues.
