Investigation report: Crew member injury aboard the self-propelled barge Rivière Saint-Augustin

Today, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its investigation report (M22C0335) regarding a crew member injury that occurred aboard the self-propelled barge Rivière Saint-Augustin in Chevery, Quebec, in October 2022.

The TSB conducted a limited-scope, class 4 investigation into this occurrence to advance transportation safety through greater awareness of potential safety issues. See the Policy on Occurrence Classification for more information.


The TSB is an independent agency that investigates air, marine, pipeline, and rail transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
