Investigation report: Grounding in Coomes Bank, British Columbia
Today, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its investigation report (M22P0029) in which the water taxi Rocky Pass ran aground in Coomes Bank, British Columbia, on 25 January 2022.
The TSB conducted a limited-scope, class 4 investigation into this occurrence to advance transportation safety through greater awareness of potential safety issues. See the Policy on Occurrence Classification for more information.
The TSB is an independent agency that investigates air, marine, pipeline, and rail transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
