    The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) contributed to the FSDS through implementation of environmentally responsible acquisition, use and disposal of goods and services in accordance with the federal Green Procurement Policy.

    Environmentally responsible acquisition, use and disposal of goods and services. The TSB's approach to implementing green procurement is to target the use of Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) procurement instruments, the delivery of training to key personnel and the inclusion of green procurement objectives in the employee performance evaluation of the functional head of procurement and materiel management. Departmental approach to further the implementation of the Policy on Green Procurement in place as of April 1, 2015.  Green procurement practices are in place.
        Number and percentage of procurement and/or materiel management specialists who have completed the Canada School of Public Service Green Procurement course (C215) or equivalent, in the given fiscal year. 2 = 100 %
        Number and percentage of managers and functional heads of procurement and materiel management whose performance evaluation includes support and contribution toward green procurement, in the given fiscal year. 1 = 100%
      Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) green consolidated procurement instruments are used, where available. All copy paper purchases are made through PSPC green consolidated procurement instruments, where available. 100%
        All office supply purchases are made through PSPC consolidated procurement instruments, where available. 90%
        All furniture purchases are made through PSPC green consolidated procurement instruments, where available. 95%
      Information technology (IT) hardware and software will be purchased against PSPC/SSC consolidated procurement instruments and meet the environmental criteria. All IT hardware including desktops, notebooks, and monitors purchases are processed via PSPC/SSC consolidated procurement instruments include standing offers/supply arrangements and requests for volume discount (RVDs). IT software includes all commercial off-the-shelf licenses. 90%
        Majority of software purchased via PSPC/SSC consolidated procurement instruments meet the environment criteria through electronic delivery. 99%
      By March 31, 2017 100% of toner cartridges are recycled at end of life. Volume of toner cartridges recycled relative to the total volume of all toner cartridges purchased in the year in question.
