On 02 September 2025, a Canadian Pacific Railway Company (CPCK) freight train was travelling west on the main track of the Cranbrook Subdivision when 11 empty centrebeam flat cars and one empty box car derailed at Mile 54.
There were no injuries and no dangerous goods involved. The TSB is investigating.
